So this is another FAKE SUB. All the subtitles are fictional and just a joke, so please don’t take offense to them, anybody… anyhoo! Grupo de rock brasileiro dos anos 80. Fundado pelo disk jockey e jornalista Júlio Barroso, misturava new wave com viagens beatniks. Carregava batida forte e coro feminino, inspirado nos B-52s.

Sua primeira aparição foi na discoteca Paulicéia Desvairada em 1981. Participou do Festival MPB Shell do mesmo ano, com a música Convite ao Prazer, onde iniciou sua fama.

Em 81 teve a seguinte formação: Willy Forghieri (posteriormente na Blitz), Sandra Coutinho (Mercenárias), Skowa (MrSkowa), Vitor Leite do Musak e Miguel Barella (Agentss e Voluntários da Pátria)e Herman Torres.

Em 1983, lançou o LP Essa tal de Gang 90 & as Absurdettes, que emplacou uma música como tema de novela das 8 da Rede Globo, a Louco amor. Em 1984 também participaram do festival da Rede Globo Plunct Plact Zuumm com a música Será que o King Kong é macaca’

Júlio Barroso faleceu em 1984, caido da janela de seu apartamento em São Paulo. Após isso, a tecladista Taciana Barros juntou outra formação e lançou mais dois álbuns.

Chegaram a participar de sua formação Júlio Barroso, Alice Pink Punk, May East, Lonita Renaux, Luíza Maria, Wanderley Taffo, Guilherme Arantes, Lee Marcucci, Gigante Brasil, Herman Torres, Otávio Fialho, Luiz Paulo Simas, Taciana Barros, Beto Firmino, Gilvan Gomes, Paulo Le Petit, Curtis.

Jornalista e disc-jóquei brasileiro, fundou o grupo Gang 90 e as Absurdettes no início da década de 80.

Nascido no Rio de Janeiro e radicado em São Paulo, Júlio mudou-se para os Estados Unidos depois de uma tentativa fracassada de fazer sucesso com uma banda performática. Em Nova Iorque, tomou contato com o movimento New Wave. Voltou ao Brasil logo após o estouro da Blitz, de Evandro Mesquita, montando a Gang 90.

Após a participação no Festival MPB-Shell, promovido pela Rede Globo em 1981, concorrendo com o lendário hit Perdidos na Selva (posteriormente gravado pelo Barão Vermelho), Júlio e seu grupo gravaram o LP Essa tal de Gang 90. O grupo é tido até hoje como um dos precursores do rock brasileiro dos anos 80.

Como compositor, foi parceiro de Lobão e Ritchie. Em 6 de junho de 1984, morre tragicamente, caindo da janela de seu apartamento em São Paulo. A maior hipótese é de que a queda tenha sido acidental.
