A low key conversation between Soulfly mainman Max Cavalera and fans Ryan and Manny. In this YouTube video they discuss Max’s recent projects with him on August 31, 2007 at the 11th Annual D-Low Memorial Festival in Arizona.

In this part, they focus the discussion on Max’s new project with Iggor Cavalera, Joe Duplantier, and Marc Rizzo called the Cavalera Conspiracy (who made their debut live performance later that night after the interview). Cavalera Conspiracy has recorded their debut album and it’s currently being mixed - with an anticipated early 2008 through Roadrunner - and Soulfly enters Bobby Burn’s the Porch Studios in Florida on Wednesday (September 12th) to begin tracking their sixth full length album with Max in the producer’s chair. To keep up with all of the music that’s going to be unleashed next year, Soulfly.com will be releasing an interview with another member of Soulfly and the Cavalera Conspiracy every two weeks, with Joe Duplantier up next. Part 2 of the Max Cavalera conversation has now been posted at http://video.google.com/videoplay’docid=1584656736065764165&hl=en

Sepultura - Refuse/Resist

Letras/Lyrics:

Chaos A.D.
Tanks on the streets
Confronting police
Bleeding the plebs
Raging crowd
Burning cars
Bloodshed stars
Wholl be alive’!

Chaos A.D.
Army in siege
Total alarm
Im sick of this
Inside the state
War is created
No mans land
What is this shit’!

Refuse/Resist
Refuse

[Solo]

Chaos A.D.
Disorder unleashed
Starting to burn
Starting to lynch
Silence means death
Stand on your feet
Inner fear
Your worst enemy

Refuse/Resist
Refuse/Resist…

2nd part of the interview by Guitar.com (once a nice site, now deserted and left with just a bunch of Musician’s Friend ads…)
In case you missed the 1st part of the interview, see it at http://www.youtube.com/watch’v=oMkZx1Mp_rY

And please keep your comments meaningful. “Max is God” etc. are not.

Max Cavalera of Soulfly, Nailbomb and legendary Sepultura speaks about composing, playing heavy riffs and staying simple, with your influences intact but not dominant. He also explains the incident from the old Sepultura days that made him get rid of the two high strings ever since.
1st part of a two part interview.
Not really a technique to die for but more of a lesson in simplicity in music ideas (meaning being heavy and addictive without sounding like Dream Theater).
The 2nd part of the interview is at
http://www.youtube.com/watch’v=74ISJqCppgc (yes, I know the quality is bad but it’s the best there was - no comments on that please).

And please keep your comments meaningful. “Max is God” etc. are not.
