Guro John Spezzano is an instructor at the Inosanto Academy of Martial Arts, with instructor-level rankings in Jun Fan/Jeet Kune Do, Filipino Kali, Indonesian Pencak Silat, Muay Thai, and Wing Chun. He also regularly practices Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Rey Diogo.
Here, he is shown demonstrating Dr. Mark Cheng’s Tactical Turkish Get-Up progression for combat martial artists & tactical operators with a 70 lb kettlebell. Please note the slow, deliberate control with which Spezzano is moving, as well as the properly aligned shoulder, elbow, and wrist position. Grapplers, tactical operators, and people who rely on “agile strength” should be able to readily appreciate the usefulness of this particular TTGU progression. Dr. Cheng currently teaches at the Inosanto Academy’s kettlebell program and monthly workshops.
