Today we take a look at the opportunities for motorcycling on St. Maarten, St. Martin. We take you to the islands huge Harley Davidson Outlet in Cole Bay where they are currently having a “biking” exposition and even follow one of the local motorcycle
clubs as they “tool” down the road on a scheduled outing.

The St. Maarten and Saint Martin duty-free prices of some of the things available such as cigarettes and liquor are highlighted in this vlog. We are really inexpensive compared to many places in the rest of the world. Even St. Thomas cannot beat our rates.

We go to get some views of our Courthouse in Philipsburg. This is not because we’re going to be before a judge but because the Courthouse is a St. Maarten landmark that is over 200 years old.

La Sucriere is adjacent to the outdoor marketplace area and is a “patisserie”. That’s where all those fabulous French pastries are baked and served. Dual Island, Dual currency…no actually 3 currencies. Our comic duo discuss the conversion to dollar rates of Dutch St. Maarten Guilders (naf = Netherlands Antilles Florins) and French St. Martin Euros as island prices are generally quoted in one or the other. The good news is that most places on both sides will also quote prices in dollars that are also accepted anywhere. I’ve lived in St. Maarten for over 20 years and have never used either a Guilder or a Euro.
We go to Ballerina Jewelers in Philipsburg where Harry tells us some basics about diamonds and shows us a stone worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.

On today’s Zebrabot Video Log we talk about Cuban Cigars. We go to Roblito’s at the Princess Juliana Airport and talk to the owner, David De Robles about the Cuban, Dominican and Nicaraguan cigars he has in stock for visitors to St. Maarten, St. Martin to enjoy while they’re here.
We visit three more St. Maarten, St. Martin beaches. Today’s visits are to Great Bay Beach which runs along the South of the island and into the Dutch Side Capital of Philipsburg.

We visit the man-made beach at Pelican and Sunterra’s Flamingo Resort. The beach was completed in 1986 and hasn’t lost a grain of sand since.

The third beach is Simpson Bay Beach, one of the island’s longest which runs from the Lagoon Bridge all the way past the airport.
