Hasret is the winner of “Popstar Alaturka” the Turkish version of “American Idol”. On the finale she sang “Anam” a very popular Turkish song dedicated to mothers, her mother was in the audience and seeing her daughter sing for her made her very emotional.
The voice that Hasret has is beautifully unique and powerful. The music is a different story, I have always been mesmerized by Turkish music, they have such rich taste when it comes to music. And don’t get me started on the voices Turkish singers posses, I mean if you haven’t heard Turkish music you are definitely missing on something spectacular.
It’s true that I only understand some of the words in the song ,but that hasn’t made it any less beautiful to me.
I believe that music made with such heart and soul makes the language barrier vanish and the only thing remain is the effect of the music on your senses.
