Marinus J. van Prattenburg (a piano specialist living in Peachland, British Columbia) is interviewed by the Canadian TV station CHBC on his recent restoration of a 1809 Broadwood piano contemporary of Ludwig van Beethoven. The instrument is played and “commented” by Susan Adams. It looks very similar to the one given in 1817 to Beethoven by Thomas Broadwood. Six octaves, separate pedal to lift bass dampers only, (both pedals need to be used at the same time in order to lift all dampers simultaneously). Stringing in soft iron and plain English brass strings for the bass.
